Introduction
This week, the Grateful Truce channel passed a quiet milestone: over 20,000 total views. When I started, five views felt like a breakthrough. This isn’t a victory lap; it’s a moment to look at the map and remember why we’re on this journey—and how it strangely, deeply connects to the work on our sister channel, AGI Dilemma.
Two Sides of the Same Human Coin
At first glance, the channels seem worlds apart. One deals with the intimate, daily war for sobriety and peace within oneself. The other deals with the vast, looming question of Artificial General Intelligence and its power to reshape our world.
But peel back the layer, and they are both about the same thing: navigating a profound, potentially devastating, crossroads with clear eyes and a resilient heart. Here is a sample of the videos that I have produced and posted:
Grateful Truce is about the internal crossroads. It’s the moment between the drink and the choice, between the old story and the new one you must write. It’s about finding a truce with your past and your pain to build a future worth staying sober for.
AGI Dilemma is about the external crossroads. It’s the precipice our entire species stands before. Will the intelligence we create become a tool for our healing and elevation, or the blueprint for a new kind of enslavement? It’s about applying wisdom and foresight to a force that could define generations.
One is a microscope, the other a telescope. Both are instruments for seeing truth.
The Common Thread: Agency and Hope
The core message of both channels isn’t fear. It’s sober hope. It’s the belief that with the right tools, community, and understanding, we can navigate even the most treacherous terrain.
In recovery, the tool is the Truce—a practical strategy for peace.
In facing AGI, the tool is informed, vigilant discourse—a strategy for ensuring technology serves humanity, not the other way around.
Both require us to reject numbness, face uncomfortable truths, and choose agency over helplessness.
A Thank You to This Community
These 20,000 views are not a number on a screen. They are 20,000 moments of connection. They are a sign that you are out there—fighting your battles, asking the hard questions, and seeking a path forward that doesn’t require abandoning your spirit or your sanity.
You are the reason this work continues. You share these videos with a friend who is struggling, or with a thinker pondering the future. You are the network that turns a message into a movement. Here is the latest long form video on YouTube:
The Road Ahead
The road is long. Addiction is a relentless foe. The future of AI is uncertain. But milestones like this remind us that we are not walking it alone. We are building a community around the most important principle there is: that no matter the challenge—internal or external, personal or planetary—informed, compassionate, and sober hope is our greatest weapon.
Thank you for being part of this. Let’s keep walking, talking, and building this truce, together.
