You Are Not Alone: Finding Hope Beyond the Struggle with Addiction
If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re carrying a heavy burden. Maybe you feel isolated in your struggle with alcohol or addiction, wondering if there’s ever going to be a way out that actually works for you. First, and most importantly, I want you to hear this: you are not alone. This is a safe place, a place of honesty, and a place of hope.
The Scale of the Struggle
Right now, you are one of over 80 million Americans walking this difficult, often lonely path. Some find their way into the rooms of AA. Others try rehab programs. Many test various pharmaceutical solutions, hoping for a breakthrough.
But a vast number—far too many—try to fight this battle entirely on their own, armed with nothing but willpower and burdened by shame. If that is you, please know that this space was created especially for you.
What This Channel Offers: A Truce, Not a War
My name is Chris, and the mission of this channel and my book, Grateful Truce, is to offer you something different: daily hope, real conversations, and research-based data, all viewed through a lens of faith and compassion.
We are going to move beyond the binary battle of “sober vs. addict” and explore a powerful third option: a truce.
This means we will discuss practical strategies, including:
- Moderation as a valid and practical tactic for those for whom total abstinence has failed.
- Physical Health and how to heal your body from the inside out, supporting it with nutrition and supplements.
- Faith as Your Foundation— turning your life over to Jesus Christ not as a abstract concept, but as your daily sponsor and source of strength.
This journey is about stopping the endless internal war and finding a sustainable peace.
A Foundation of Faith
This path is built on more than just positive thinking; it’s built on the rock of scripture.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
This is an open invitation to bring your exhaustion, your failures, and your cravings to the foot of the cross and finally find rest.
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:13
Your strength alone may fail, but you are not operating on your own strength. This verse is a promise that you can navigate this journey through the power of Christ.
