A Reluctant Return to Social Media

Let me be clear: I believe social media is a toxin. History will judge it as one of modern civilization’s great downfalls—a tool that eroded truth, community, and mental health.

Yet today, it’s the only public square we have.

After 10 plus years of silence on my personal Facebook page—once a hub for political debates—I’m reopening it with strict boundaries:

  1. Sole Focus: Promoting GratefulTruce.com, our podcasts, and blog posts.
  2. Zero Engagement with modern news/events.
  3. One Mission Only: Reaching those drowning in addiction with real alternatives.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

Why Break My Own Rule?

Because behind screens are real people who need:

  • Hope beyond AA’s binary (abstinence-or-death)
  • Data beyond Big Pharma’s pill pushes (72 footnotes in my book back this up)
  • A Sponsor Named Jesus—not vague “higher powers”

This 200-page labor of love exists for you—the struggler, the skeptic, the AA dropout who still believes redemption is possible. But in endeavors to open it up for a major agent or publisher I need subscribers and likes.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Final Disclaimer

To longtime followers: The politically outspoken Chris of decades past is gone. Today, I fight one battle online: equipping addicts, alcoholics and those sitting on the fence with Christ-centered tools to reclaim their lives. I need you to hear me on this please. If for whatever reason this is not what you want to hear or read from me then unfriend or discontinue following me. May God bless you all.
