Two Purposes, One Mission
- To serve my fellow strugglers
- To serve Jesus Christ
I wrestled for months before writing these words. Controversy? Criticism? Bring it. If just one person finds hope here, I’ve answered my calling.
My Credentials: A Traveler, A Guide, not a Guru
Disclaimer: I’m no doctor, therapist, or recovery expert. Just a man who’s:
☑️ Survived decades of addiction’s rollercoaster
☑️ Endured court-ordered rehabs, relapses, and rock bottoms
☑️ Lived through divorce, therapy, and AA’s “90 meetings in 90 days” mantra
☑️ Emerged with what AA’s Big Book calls “a normal life” – but on my terms
Today? I’m what they call a “functioning alcoholic”. I’ve built what I term:
“The Math of Moderation”
A truce between:
- Absolute abstinence
- Uncontrolled drinking
It’s messy. It’s imperfect. But it’s real.
The Elephant in the Recovery Room
AA’s 80-year-old program remains the only widely accepted solution, despite:
- Abysmal success rates (5-10% long-term sobriety)
- Post-COVID addiction spikes (overdoses up 30%)
- One-size-fits-all dogma that shames alternatives
We’re losing this war. It’s time for new tactics.
What to Expect From This Blog
Morning Coffee Sessions (like this one) where we’ll:
- Examine book excerpts – Starting from Chapter 1
- Share hard-won strategies – My “moderation math,” spiritual tools, relapse resets
- Discuss Jesus as Sponsor – The foundation that made my truce possible
A Challenge For You Today
Think of one recovery “rule” you’ve questioned but never dared to voice.
